Well it looks as if Federal Parliament will be debating same-sex marriage tomorrow. And with that no doubt, the whole concept of who should make the final decision. Some say, like in Ireland last week, that a referendum is needed: let the people of this nation decide. Some say what is needed is a conscience vote in parliament: let all the politicians whom the people have voted in, decide. Welcome back to all our TGS women who went on the Women’s Retreat! Did you avagoodweekend? Two weeks ago the TGS youth went to Tinaroo for their annual camp. Amongst the tubing, table tennis, food, games, and sleep we spend a lot of time in God’s word. The theme of the weekend was “the Kingdom of God”. There were 3 talks and 3 small groups sessions looking at what the Kingdom of God is, what it will be like, who is the king and many more things. We don’t find the celebrations of Mother’s Day (USA) or Mothering Sunday (UK) in the Scriptures, but they certainly are good occasions for honouring our mums, and this God does command (Exodus 20:12 and Ephesians 6:2).   For me this year, Mother’s Day, is a little different, and in a nice way.
