Our quarterly Men’s, Youth & Boys Breakfasts are often advertised as ‘Death By Cholesterol’, with high protein and high carbohydrate food abounding! Well … I’m not dead yet! There is a ministry that many might not know about but that God has been using to grow and encourage his people in life and faith. What is this ministry? It is the Sunday night church (SNC) café. The 6pm service run a café style supper each month after the service. And why do they do that? What is it all about? Well, below is Jennie Casella’s answer. Years ago the company BP ran commercials with the line “… BP, the quiet achiever” (which was ironic as they were telling you about their achievements on national TV!). Here at TGS there are many ‘quiet achievers’: people who serve Christ and us but who don’t advertise their service or do it for praise from us. This is wonderful! I am guessing that most of you will know the popular TV children’s show Sesame Street, and therefore you will know Big Bird. Well, just recently the movie, I Am Big Bird: The Caroll Spinney Story (PG) was released. Yes, it is a movie about the man behind Big Bird; and his name is Caroll Spinney.
