As I wrote this before I went on one week’s annual leave, by the time you read this, things might have changed, or might still be the same….   Well, I am pretty sure that most of you have heard all about this: how Tara Brown and her 60 Minutes colleagues are in (are still in?) a very awful predicament: one day in a five star apartment and the next in a Lebanese jail. Let alone the awful ordeal that Sally Faulkner is enduring since her children were taken 11 months ago......

For the last time, I got to spend my final week of holidays on Launch Camp, and I loved every moment of it. From the early morning quiet times; to the gatherings where we would hear Dave speak; to connect groups where we would look deeper into the Bible; to the epic ping-pong battles, and to the evening activities that would either challenge or encourage us in our faith. I’m glad family camp will end … because of certain memories I have: It was my first Cubs camp; I was 8 … and it was cold! I was at a Scout Jamboree; I was 12 … and the campsite (which we’d been told was lush) was mostly dirt! The family was in our old (read ‘basic’) camper trailer at the Rocky Creek campground (near Tolga); it was winter … and it was literally nearly freezing! So when I think of camping I know that it is not all fun and games.......
