Babes Project Cairns

Many of you will remember ‘Chloe’s Place’. Chloe’s Place, which was started by Christians, existed to help women with unplanned pregnancies. It was a wonderful ministry and service to our community. Sadly, Chloe’s Place shut down. What you may not have heard is that Chloe’s Place has been replaced by the Babes Project. The Babes Project seek to do the same thing as Chloe’s Place. Run by Christians, valuing and defending life from conception, Babes Project exists to help and empower women to be mothers, even in a crisis or unplanned pregnancy. Here’s what the Director of Babes Project says on their website: Helen Parker was confronted with her own experience of crisis pregnancy and found little support available to her, inspiring the beginning of the organisation in 2009, ‘I just needed someone to tell me that I could be a parent, and then show me how to do it.’ The Babes Project is changing the way Australians approach crisis pregnancy by supporting women in the perinatal period. By addressing challenges and allowing space for her to create a future for herself and her children, we have seen women thrive in their early parenting, leading to positive outcomes for their family. We believe motherhood is an adventure. There will be mountains and valleys, but the journey can be amazing. (www.babesproject.com) Babes Project is looking for volunteers. Friends, this is an opportunity for us to bless the community for the glory of God and for the good of women and the unborn. Society knows we stand against abortion, and there is nothing wrong with that. But may they also know what we stand for too, loving women and their children when no-one else does. Please see the website if you can help or visit the centre here in Cairns at Shop 3, 21-23 Sheridan Street (Opposite Rusty’s Markets). Please also be praying for Babes Project.
