Friends, our mission at TGS is to make disciples of Jesus to the glory of God. And what I find most comforting about our mission is that we don’t do this on our own. God himself equips and empowers us to make disciples (new ones and continuing ones). Yet in knowing this I still struggle. I used to love the multiple choice parts of exam papers – I usually found them fairly easy going…. if I remember rightly. The choice of A or B or C or D wasn’t that difficult: it sure beat having to write half a page about something that you didn’t have a clue about. ‘Antinomy’ … what?! The Oxford Dictionary defines antinomy as: “a contradiction between two beliefs or conclusions that are in themselves reasonable; a paradox.” So, two beliefs or conclusions on their own are reasonable or true, but when you put them together they seem to be contradictory.
