Launch Camp 2015

In the last week of the holidays 7 of our youth went to a camp called Launch.

Launch Camp exists to train teenagers in the basics of biblical, servant leadership via a three year program. The camp’s main focus is to equip and encourage the next generation of youth/children’s leaders to take their part in passing on the gospel message to others.

I have asked Alice to share what camp was like for her.

Alice: Launch camp was great! It was my first year there and in my small group we studied the book of Mark. We had at least 2 hours each day for the bible study, so we could really dig in deep and see who Jesus was, what he had come to do and how we need to respond to him. We also had talks each morning on the book of 1 Samuel which both challenged and encouraged us in our faith. I liked how the purpose of the camp was not primarily fun activities but building relationships with God and fellow campers/leaders.

Overall, whether we were studying God’s word, swimming at Lake Eacham, smuggling bibles into “China”, sharing testimonies around the campfire or just hanging out together, it was great to just spend a week in the company of other Christians, fellowshipping as brothers and sisters in Christ.

Join with me in praising God for raising up the next generation and pray that they continue to grow in Christ.
