Chloe’s Place

Minute from a Parishioner

Were you or was someone you know in your family a ‘surprise baby’? One in two pregnancies in Australia are unexpected. And while a ‘surprise baby’ can become ‘surprise joy’, the situation in the beginning can be overwhelming, especially if there are other challenging circumstances.

Having had its origins in 2015 at The Good Shepherd, Cairns Pregnancy Help Inc., trading as Chloe’s Place, is a not-for-profit association of volunteer professionals from across the community providing free, compassionate and confidential services to anyone needing help because of a current, past or suspected pregnancy. This includes people who think they may be pregnant, or who have confirmed a pregnancy that is unexpected, unsupported, or happening in the midst of other challenging circumstances. We also provide professional support to women and couples who are struggling with a past pregnancy loss.

We offer pregnancy testing, counselling, accurate information about all options, and personalised, ongoing assistance. Chloe’s Place is space to pause, breathe, think and make empowering life decisions. A place to find a support network of caring mentors, and access holistic practical help.

Since November last year, we have been operating as an outreach service, seeing clients in and around the community in different spaces. As of yesterday, thanks to the many doors God has opened and the amazing support of the community, we have now opened the doors to our own pregnancy resource centre and re-loved baby boutique, at 117 Anderson Rd, Manunda. The space includes a peaceful and private counselling room, a fundraising boutique selling quality second-hand baby goods, and a storehouse of donated equipment to assist clients.

If you, or someone you know needs help, please contact us by phone, Facebook message or at To subscribe to our mailing list, please send us an email! Chloe’s place provides accurate information about all pregnancy options. We do not provide medical procedures or referrals for medical procedures.
