Speaker Bio:
Carmelina serves as Dean of Women at Christ College in Sydney, where she co-ordinates the Ministry Training for Women course. She also ministers with her husband Jeff at Chatswood Presbyterian Church where they have been for 23 years.
Carmelina grew up as an only child in the ‘little Italy’ of Sydney. She and Jeff have four children (all young adults) and has a dog whom they speak to in Italian. Her favourite ways to relax are enjoying the company of people in her home, running, lying on the beach or sitting by a fire.
About the book of Thessalonians:
Almost 2000 years after this letter was written, we stand much closer to the time of Christ’s return; but we would also be wrong to see His imminent appearance as a excuse for idle waiting and heavenward gazing.
Being prepared for His coming means spreading the Gospel, reaching out to those in need, and building the Church, His body. As you read 2 Thessalonians, then see clearly the reality of His return and your responsibility to live for Him as we “Wait for the day.”
